Important!
You must select which type of door you will be installing the Shepherd 210 on, either a right handed or left handed type door. Below we explain how to determine door opening direction for your door:
Standing outside and face the door. If the hinge is at the left side of the door, the door is a left-handed door. Select the left handed lock. If the hinge is at the right side of the door, the door is a right-handed door and the right handed door lock should be used. See figure below:

Installation template included: Suitable for door thickness of 1.5 - 1.89"
As with many advanced technologies, the use of biometrics for identification involves a learning process. The Shepherd
210 uses exciting technology and design that allows the opening of a locked door simply by pressing a finger on the lock, but users must learn the best positioning and pressure to use.
Generally, the center of the vortex of the fingerprint pattern is the key data point; ideally, it is placed in the center of the small glass window in a consistent way. Your finger should be flat, motionless and held with firm pressure in the same way each time. A very firm pressure when placing the finger gives the best image, but the finger must
not move during scanning. Moist fingers give better images than dry ones. Very dirty fingers are not recommended, as the reader will not properly register the image and scratching to the fingerprint reader lens may occur. The
Shepherd 210 allows setting security thresholds to determine how precisely you must place your finger to open the lock.
