FloodStop for Water Heater Shut Off Valve 1.0 NPT

Prevent Water Heaters from flooding your property:
Water Heaters have a limited life, then leak after years of corrosion. Water Heaters are generally considered a maintenance-free appliance, but they are also one of the single most damaging appliances in the home. Because Water Heaters are continually under pressure, even small pressurized leaks can quickly flood and devastate a home. Whether at home, at work, or on vacation these flooding events can go undetected for hours or even days.

Without FloodStop, Flooding Will Continue:
Unexpected appliance failures cause flooding and water damage, which will continue unabated until the problem is discovered and the water supply is manually shut off.

With FloodStop, Property Damage is Avoided:

Water loss from unexpected appliance failures and hose ruptures are detected by FloodStop's water/leak sensor, and the water supply is automatically and immediately shut off.

FloodStop (FS 1.00-NPT) automatically shuts off the water supply to the Water Heater and sounds an alarm, leaving all other household fixtures and appliances operational. Easily installed in fifteen minutes. 1-Year Manufacturer's Warranty.

Question: If used with batteries only and the batteries die does the valve close or stay open?
Answer: On the Flood stop system when the batteries run low you will hear a chirp alert so you can change the batteries. If the batteries do indeed die the valve will not automatically close.
Question: Just to confirm when the batteries are low the chirp alert is a beep-beep and not a single beep. Correct?
Answer: Correct, the low battery alert is 2 beeps then about a 6 second pause then 2 beeps again over and over.
Question: Are both the male and female ends threaded for 1 inch pipe?
Answer: Yes.
Question: Can you hear the flood stop valve open and close when the open and close buttons are pressed?
Answer: Yes, but you have to be close enough to it. Since it is a motorized ball valve, it should emit a constant sound for about 2 seconds. The sound stops when the ball within the valve has rotated as far as it can go in either the open or closed position.
Question: Can this be used as a whole house system? Also can the valve be mounted outside?
Answer: Yes, this Flood stop can be used as a whole house system. The valve can be mounted in a garage but not in an outdoor situation where it would come in contact with outdoor elements.
Question: Is this valved rated as LEADFREE for potable water?
Answer: Yes.
Question: Does this system have a backup battery for power outages and can it be linked to my house alarm system?
Answer: Yes battery back-up and yes there is a single output to connect to your home alarm system.
Question: How often do you need to change the batteries?
Answer: If you are using the batteries as the primary power source we recommend replacing them every year. Otherwise the Flood Stop System has a low battery alert.
