It was designed specifically for through-the-wall mounting to enable ventilation in rooms where a ceiling mounted fan just won't do. It is perfectly suited for new construction and remodeling. An exterior hood with a backdraft damper is included with this bathroom fan as well as a bird screen.

This fan quietly moves air because it features a totally enclosed condenser motor and a large, double suction blower. The blower wheel is also designed to draw air in from both sides, which helps keep the noise down, as there is more area for the air to enter the wheel. This fan operates at a quiet 1.1 sones. This fan is also Energy Star^Žqualified to help save you money on your electricity. The built-in damper prevents outside air from coming in through the fan. You may also place loose fill or batt insulation directly over the fan housing to prevent heat from escaping.

Question: Does the duct come straight out of the back of the fan or through the top?
Answer: On the Panasonic Whisper wall fan the duct connection is on the back of the fan.
Question: Our current bathroom fan is a ceiling fan but it vents straight up not to the side as shown in your ceiling models. Could we mount this fan on the ceiling since it vents straight back not to the side?
